Jen Winnett

Architect / Associate / Construction Collaboration Lead (she/her)

Jen Winnett, AIA, LEED Green Assoc., is an architect who believes that everyone deserves a beautiful place to call home. She finds her greatest joy building spaces that encourage welcoming interactions; where neighbors become friends, and vibrant communities are formed.

Jen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a desire to serve others through her work. When she found the world of affordable housing, she knew she had found her people and her passion!

A rare architect who loves construction, Jen is at her happiest in her hard hat and boots walking the jobsite. As the Construction Collaboration Lead at FORA, she enjoys building strong and trusting relationships with our contractor and client teams; working together to navigate complex design constraints and arrive at a high quality project for future residents to call home.

In her spare time, Jen can be found adventuring with her husband near their home in Auburn, CA. Most weekends they enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, or tackling the never-ending home improvement project list.

  • If you could go anywhere (real or fictional, at no cost), where would you go?

    “Definitely Japan, I was lucky enough to travel there a few years ago and have wanted to get back ever since.”

  • What's your happy place?

    “A cabin in the woods, complete with a crackling fire in the fireplace, a good book to read, and my favorite people all around.”

  • What's the best meal you've ever had?

    “Omakase sushi in Tokyo”

  • Coffee or tea?

    “Coffee - preferably a warm latte or a mocha.”

  • What's something that made you smile recently?

    “Watching old home videos of my siblings and I growing up.”

  • What are some things your bucket list?

    “My bucket list is primarily a travel wish list: take a dip in the hot springs in Iceland, snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, tour the pyramids in Egypt, walk along the Great Wall of China, adventure through a rainforest, see the skyscrapers in Dubai, and many more.”

  • What's your favorite local spot?

    “I live in Auburn, CA and it's a tie between Pour Choice and Ponderosa Cider Co.”
