Athena Carter

Designer / Associate / Housing Development Lead (she/her)

Athena, NCARB, LEED AP, is our construction virtuoso! Her experience in both design and construction has allowed her to develop a sharp eye - and a deep understanding of how buildings are built. With over 11.5 years of experience working in the A/E/C industry, Athena has been involved in nearly all aspects of the architectural profession, including: fostering client relationships, space planning, healthcare and commercial design, BIM, LEED management, construction administration, marketing, graphic design, proposal development, brand strategy, and website user interface design. She even spent a couple years working under a general contractor. She received her B.Arch. from UC Berkeley, and her M.Arch. from California College of the Arts.

Athena lives and breathes design. In her spare time, Athena builds furniture. More recently, she’s become a pro at upcycling pieces into unique and beautiful creations. She renovates houses, has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and curates user experiences for AirBNBs. Outside of design, Athena enjoys hanging out with her cat and traveling around the world, with most of her bucket-list items being travel related.
