Bay Avenue was an exciting opportunity for our team to protect existing affordable housing in Capitola, while densifying the property with an additional 33 units and community room. Alongside First Community Housing, our team rehabilitated 76 existing affordable senior rental apartments that were in very poor physical condition - extending the building lifetimes and preserving affordable housing. A main focus on this project was to create a central courtyard and greenspace for the residents to enjoy. Our team also added significant new landscape and tree plantings along Bay Avenue to provide privacy for the residents and a beautiful streetscape for the community.

The 109 unit property is in an excellent neighborhood for seniors - with many amenities within walking distance. It is across the street from a senior center, large grocery store, and drug store. This site offers easy access to public transportation, shopping, medical services, public recreation and parks, job centers, and community centers.
